A programmable multimedia environment 925’ (282 m) long with variable sound, light, imagery, and fragrance. The tunnel allows quick underground connection between domestic and overseas flights, giving visitors a respite from the hectic pace of international air travel. A constantly changing computer-controlled system plays sounds from nature (whales, wind) and displays natural color spectrums (dawn, sunset). Environmental fragrancing and large-scale display monitors are integrated. The tunnel is equal parts musical instrument, theater, sensual interlude, and son et lumière / Licht Festival.
